Win Big with Online Advocacy Day – Thursday September 19th

$1000 Grand Prize for Professional Development!

Winning is as simple as

1, 2, 3

All members that complete the following 1, 2, 3 tasks will receive a special ADVOCATE recognition for the upcoming fall convention. You must complete the tasks between now and September 19th to also have your name entered into a drawing for $1000.00 in professional development support funds.  Funds must be used to support attendance or travel to a KY SHAPE or SHAPE America sponsored event (KY SHAPE convention, Speak Out Day, SHAPE America National Convention, SHAPE America Regional Conference). Click here to enter the drawing once all 3 tasks are completed. Additional prizes will be awarded for completion during the annual convention October 13-15th!

Tag your members of Congress and share your successes on Twitter using the hashtags #SHAPEAdvocacy and #MoreTitleIV to show your support for HPE advocacy and spread the word!

2. Contact Congress on September 19th!

It literally takes less than a minute to send a message to your members of Congress asking them to fully fund Title IV, Part A of ESSA for FY20 using SHAPE America’s Legislative Action Center. But KY SHAPE encourages members to custom the letter adn personalize it to your school and community.  If you believe that health education and physical education make a difference, then tell that story!

3. Encourage Others to Participate

 Advocating for healthier students is not just for health and physical education teachers, it is for everyone.  Use the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model to develop a list of colleagues along with friends and family, then ask them to take a minute out of their day to help support our cause! Copy and paste the following message to email or social media:

Help me support healthier students in my school and our community. It only takes a minute to help support a great cause. Click here to Send a message to your members of Congress asking them to fully fund Title IV, Part A of ESSA for FY20 using SHAPE America’s Legislative Action Center.
