Kentucky Advocating on Capitol Hill

Kentucky SHAPE was proudly represented in Washington, D.C. for SHAPE America Speak Out Day, advocating for federal policies and funding that directly support health and physical education in our schools.

Our delegation met with congressional offices to:

  • Advocate for continued Title II and IV-A funding.

  • Elevate the importance of health and physical education.

  • Share the impact Kentucky educators are making in their communities.

This work ensures that the voice of Kentucky educators is heard at the national level and that our students remain a priority in federal education policy discussions.

🤝 SHAPE America Leadership Summit

National Collaboration & Momentum

In addition to advocacy efforts, Kentucky leaders participated in the 5th Annual SHAPE America Leadership Summit, which brought together 72 state affiliate leaders from 35 states, including 28 Executive Directors.

The Summit focused on:

  • Strengthening affiliate collaboration

  • Sharing best practices

  • Expanding member engagement

  • Building unified advocacy strategies nationwide
