KY SHAPE/KYSHAPE is excited to forever change the game with professional development and learning!
In 2020, we will offer more professional development opportunities than ever before to include four regional one day workshops (TBD), continued promotion of UK PAWS and the SHAPE America Professional Learning Institute in Louisville August 3-5th.
Through our new partnership with health.moves.minds., not having funds for professional learning or having to pay from your pocket will be a practice of the past. Kentucky is the only state that is implementing a professional learning fund aligned to the health.moves.minds. curriculum and fundraising. Not only that but we are walking the walk by creating additional incentives and giveaways back to our community of health and physical educators!

**Reminder that if you implement this school year, your school is eligible for up to 75% back in funds from Gopher (60%) and professional development credit (15%) that can be applied to the August Professional Learning Institute in Louisville: https://www.shapeamerica.org/prodev/Equity_Diversity_and_Inclusion_Conference.aspx
There is no pressure to fund raise or host an event, and the SEL curriculum is absolutely free just for signing up!

In honor of this week’s Random Acts of Kindness Week, Gopher will be matching an additional 5% of funds raised toward your Gopher gift card, if your school raises over $2,000 by the end of June!
This means Kentucky schools that raise $2,000 or more will receive 80% back!!!
One additional piece to note – SHAPE has created another great promotional tool/ flier: health. moves. minds. An Event in 5 Weeks or Less – 1 page checklist. Feel free to use this for the reminder of the school year, to promote an easy way to conduct an event quickly.

Additionally for every school that you refer, we will send them a personal recruitment email about the program just like this. For each school that officially signs-up your name will be entered into a drawing for a full VIP all expense paid professional learning experience for the August 3-5th event in Louisville.
The first place winner will receive registration, hotel and food per diem for the conference. A second place winner will receive free registration. It is easy to participate, simply fill out the following form link (or click image above) and we will complete the rest.
The drawing will be held during the spring board retreat on March 13th or 14th (TBD).If Kentucky reaches our goal of at least 160 school sign-ups, then Executive Director Jamie Sparks will be getting his second HMM tattoo at this time. Missouri was the first state to reach the 160 goal, let’s ensure Kentucky is the next!
