Celebrating health.moves.minds News and Success in Kentucky
Jefferson County Public Schools is the first large urban school district to fully enroll all schools for free access to health.moves.minds.
HPE District Director Meme Ratliff was instrumental in getting the free curricular access to all schools within JCPS for teaching SEL strategies within health and physical education.
Garden Springs Elementary in Fayette County becomes the top health.moves.minds. schools in the state. PE Teacher Catie Embry successfully implemented the curricular program and fundraising component. Catie’s school surpassed their fundraising goal and ended with over $8000.00. Much different than previous programs, her school will receive $5300.00 back in a gift certificate from Gopher and she personally earned over $1200.00 in professional development funding from KY SHAPE/KYSHAPE. The remaining funds support SHAPE America program and initiatives to continue to elevate quality health and physical education.
